The Studio
Nubuor Designs was founded on a simple belief: that a beautifully designed home should be as livable as it is elevated, and that the process of getting there should feel as considered as the result.
Every project is approached as a true partnership. The work is collaborative by nature and decisive in direction, guided by close listening, careful planning, and a commitment to bringing clarity to every stage. From initial concept through final installation, nothing is too small to deserve attention.
Whether the scope is a full renovation or a single room of furnishings, every project receives the same care. The goal is always a home that feels completely personal, deeply considered, and entirely yours.
The Aesthetic
No two projects ever look the same, even when the homes do, because a home should always reflect the person living in it. Rather than arriving with a signature style, we draw from your property's architecture, history, and the way you actually live.
Our aesthetic leans modern, and we love finding how that sensibility translates across different eras and styles. A Beacon Hill brownstone and a Brookline colonial will each call for a completely different expression. Finding that interpretation, with you in mind, is one of the most interesting parts of the work.
That shows up in every detail, from color choices to where we source. We work with artisans, specialty vendors, and makers near and far, mixing custom pieces with carefully chosen vintage finds. Those elements give a home a depth and soul that off the shelf purchases simply cannot replicate. That is the difference between a home that looks beautiful and one that actually feels like you.
Margaret Nubuor
I grew up in Ghana before moving to the US, and being surrounded by different materials, landscapes, and ways of living gave me an early sense of how deeply a home reflects the people inside it. Years of travel have only deepened that. I bring that perspective to every project, along with a love of color, rich textiles, and quality handmade craft.
Over a decade of high-end residential work across Boston, Cape Cod, New York, and coastal Maine has shaped how I run every project: close listening, clear communication, and meticulous planning from first conversation through final installation. I work directly with every client, on every project. Many return for second homes, refer family members, or stay in touch long after a project wraps. That, to me, says more than any award or feature ever could.
When not designing, you will find me walking my black lab Jasper through Beacon Hill, hunting for treasures at antique markets, painting watercolors, or traveling for design inspiration. I am a devoted candle connoisseur and maintain an ever-growing collection of sewing projects I fully intend to finish… someday.
