This single-family brownstone update showcases how modern design sensibilities can beautifully complement classic architecture. Nubuor Designs provided full-service interior design including kitchen cabinetry design, millwork detailing, furniture selection, and project management for this family home. The project blends contemporary elements—clean-lined shaker panels, mixed metal finishes, and bold color choices—with the timeless charm of a historic Boston brownstone.

With a possible exterior rear expansion down the line, the new homeowners' aesthetics are tastefully modern with a classic twist. Think shaker panels with a modern profile, painted finishes mixed with rich wood stains, and patina’d brass finishes. Oh, and some fun wallpaper! A self-proclaimed lover of all things blue, cool gray, and bright, the owner of this home was intrigued by the addition of colors like rust and terracotta to add visual interest. As the interior designer for this family, we hope to create a welcoming atmosphere for their children, adorable dog, and future guests.
