Laid Back Classic

Interior Design : Nubuor Designs
Project Location : Wellesley, MA
Status: Ongoing

This cape-style family home in Wellesley called for classic New England design that could actually keep up with kids and daily life. We handled space planning, furniture selection and procurement, and paint consultation throughout, building the palette around aged oak, weathered tones, and classic silhouettes that feel collected rather than staged.

The living room refresh started with a piece the family already owned, an incredible vintage rug in rich blues and earthy rust tones, which became the anchor for everything that followed. Layered neutrals, organic textures, and pops of green sit alongside sculptural wood and metal accents, a cast-iron tripod lamp, a cane-backed chair, an oak sideboard warm enough to ground the room without competing with the rug's pattern. Our goal is a home where kids can run around freely and adults can gather for late night conversation just as easily, sophisticated enough to feel intentional, relaxed enough to actually live in.
